REVIEW - Robo Force from Toyfinity

I have a lot of ideas about things I'd like to see take place. Some creative, ambitious person then enters the scene and makes it happen before me! This is exactly what Toyfinity is doing with a new line of buildable robot toys. They've resurrected a classic — if somewhat failed — line and brought it up to speed with a new twist.

Robo Force, by Ideal appeared in the mid 80's then dropped out of sight as Transformers cornered the robot toy market. Nevertheless, they always held a certain quirky, blocky sort of appeal. Toyfinity's project takes the characters and designs of that old line and breathes new life into it by incorporating a universal joint system which allows for interchangeable parts.

What's more, this system, "Glyos" (by Onell design), has a lot of support from other preexisting toy lines. That gives fans a whole world of building options and parts to choose from. So what's it like to get your hands on these new Robo Force toys? Watch and see:

Alien Robot Monster - Genesis

What's so great about aliens robots and monsters! Well, whether it's regressive childhood imaginings, or just plain old escapism, I still find them fascinating.  I'll be taking a look at their intersection with pop culture — past and present — particularly in toys, art and movies. Would aliens come in peace, or for war? What mysteries might they unlock? Could robots become our friends and powerful defenders? As for monsters...

"Monsters force us to become stronger, smarter, better. They sift the weak from the strong and provide a forge for the steeling of souls. Even as we curse monsters, we admire them. Seek to become them, in some ways."
Jim Butcher, Ghost Story
